PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
CT Biodiesel will develop an existing Greenfield site off Firestone Drive in Suffield under a highly disciplined development effort.
The site, which is now under option to CT Biodiesel is ready for development, offering a number of advantages for producing biodiesel:
Site—17.75 Acres
The site contains 17.75 acres, providing plenty of space to construct
a building with full capacity for offices, testing laboratories, R&D,
biodiesel production and potentially on-site power generation. The site
also offers excellent truck access.

Transportation Access
The site is served by Connecticut Southern Rail and connects with CSX
lines within five miles. The site is within four miles of I-91, twenty
minutes of I-90 and twenty minutes of I-84. These major arteries also provide
excellent opportunities to transport product by road.

truck route, click here.
Regional Expertise
CT Biodiesel has secured the services of exceptional people and entities in such areas as engineering and design, environmental assessment and permitting, construction management and legal.
Development Approach
CT Biodiesel has initiated its development plan utilizing this
expertise with an eye to reducing the plant's overall capital costs in
order to maintain cost competitiveness. The core of this effort is the
component-based engineering and design approach around a proven technology
and the Construction Management-At-Risk (CM) with a Guaranteed Maximum
Price (GMP) strategy. This eliminates substantial upfront engineering costs
and lag time associated with EPC/Turnkey construction approaches. CT
Biodiesel believes its capital costs are 30% to 50% lower while still maintaining
exceptionally strong support from the key contributors to the construction
and commissioning of the plant.
